In 2015, Chan Chan Restaurant opened its doors with the goal of serving a meal made with sincerity. Since then, we have been dedicated to providing delicious and authentic Korean cuisine, earning the love and support of the Irvine community.
The name "Chan Chan" carries a special meaning in Korean. It combines "Chan," meaning "to help or support," and "Chan," meaning "a meal or food." This reflects our belief that a meal made with sincerity can provide warmth and nourishment, just like a heartfelt gesture of support.
At Chan Chan, we live by our guiding principle: “Serve food that supports and nourishes.” Just as our name suggests, we are committed to creating meals that bring comfort and strength. We pour our heart into crafting our broths and seasonings, ensuring that every dish is made with care and sincerity.
Every dish at Chan Chan is carefully developed and managed by our owner-chef, who has a deep passion for cooking. Our signature dishes—Tteokbokki, Kimbap, Fried Chicken, and Kalguksu (noodle soup)—are not just simple street food but well-balanced meals prepared with care and dedication.
Our kimbap is made with a unique touch—instead of artificial pickled radish, we use beet-infused pickled radish, which enhances the natural flavors. Each roll is generously filled, making it a satisfying and wholesome meal on its own. The best companion to our Gimbap is our house-made Tteokbokki sauce, made with our own gochujang (Korean red chili paste), delivering a deep and natural spiciness.
This commitment to quality and authenticity is also reflected in our Kalguksu (hand-cut noodle soup). Our rich broth is carefully simmered with dried seafood, vegetables, and beef bone to create a depth of flavor that rivals even specialized noodle restaurants.
